How ’bout That Ride In

Hello! This blog is a bit backlogged due to the lack of Internet where we have been staying, but here are some updates!

Background- Angela (a grad student at UCSC) needed volunteers to come help her with her sea grass data collection in the Philippines. She chose five volunteers: me, Leslie, Cori, Ian, and Jordan.

Four days after graduation Leslie and I made our way to LAX to embark on a 2-day journey to Manila, Philippines.

We arrived at LAX at 7am (three hours before our international flight) and made it through security by 8. Unfortunately, our flight from LAX to Honolulu was delayed 8 hours meaning we would miss our next two connecting flight. After much whining to the Delta representative we were switched into the last two seats on a flight to Tokyo!

Unfortunately, when we reached Tokyo we had missed our connecting flight (yay), so we got switched to another flight going to Manila. After the longggggest day of the year we made it to our destination.
Unfortunately, our bags did not…I suppose it is too much to ask that our bags make it all the way through 4 missed flights.  So baggless, we made our way to Angela’s
house outside the city to get a little sleep before we our 6 hour drive the next morning.
